 This time we visit a winery that is new to us! Our visit to Code Wines in Okanagan Falls was hosted by the winemaker and he guided us through a tasting of several excellent wines concluding in a special barrel tasting. Time to Taste a Super Tuscan!

 This time we try a Super Tuscan - wine made in Italy with a blend of Italian grapes (like Sangiovese) and International grapes (like Syrah). This 2020 Tenute Rossetti  all’Uso Toscano is made in the Governo style which means that some of the grapes were dried on straw mats and then added to the already fermented wine to start a second fermentation. This makes a richer wine that is perfect for Tuscan food - and a lot more!

 This time we try a 2022 Domaine Clef de Saint Thomas Pierre Troupel Chateauneuf-du-Pape  from the Southern Rhone. This wine comes from a very famous region of France and the wine is a bit of a splurge but is also a wonderful blend that is perfect for a special occasion.

 This time we try a Sauv Blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand. Some Sauv Blancs from this area tend to taste a bit like lemonade - but not this 2023 Aronui Sauvignon Blanc!

Time to Taste a Special Wine from Madiran, France

Madiran is a wine region in South West France in Gascony. The wines there usually have the Tannat grape in the mix. Tannat is a rich, bold, and somewhat tannic grape that makes a wine that is perfect for a special occasion! This producer makes a wonderful wine, a 2017 Brumont Chateau Montus, often referred to as the Petrus of the South West.
