Time to Taste a Special Wine from Madiran, France

Madiran is a wine region in South West France in Gascony. The wines there usually have the Tannat grape in the mix. Tannat is a rich, bold, and somewhat tannic grape that makes a wine that is perfect for a special occasion! This producer makes a wonderful wine, a 2017 Brumont Chateau Montus, often referred to as the Petrus of the South West.

 This time we taste a Margaux wine from Chateau Tayac from the Bordeaux wine region. This is a less extracted, softer Bordeaux wine but still packs a lot of flavour. It is the ideal wine for a splurge!

Louis Latour made this 2020 Ardèche Chardonnay to compete with the Chardonnay from Burgundy - and it does a very nice job! This time we try a GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) blend from Cairrane, in the Southern Rhone. This 2021 Camille Cayran Grande Reserve is a typical blend for the area but this particular wine is a bit of a standout!
